Liliana Montoya is Born and raised in Colombia. She works as a model, designer, and an entrepreneur. Her firm is called "Liliana Montoya Swim" based in Miami Beach, Florida. She is the company's founder as well as its creative director. She excelled in her studies and shown remarkable painting and drawing abilities during her school days. She used to love watching Fashion TV when she was little. Fashion TV and major designer houses such as Chanel, Dior, Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, and Versace had a significant effect on her style. She got her degree in Fashion Design with a major in Marketing. After the satisfactory completion of a senior thesis in swimwear. She came to the conclusion that she wanted to create her own swimsuit firm and became an entrepreneur. 

She aspired to be a model in the past, but she was constantly rejected by modelling agencies since she was very skinny at the time. She never envisaged herself as a fashion designer and creating her own collection & modelling on the runway. Her grandmother, aunts, and mother taught her how to sew when she was a child.

During the first four ads of her firm, she modelled her own collection. She eventually left modelling to focus on growing her brand and advancing her career as an entrepreneur, and she has now put her company on the map. She introduced fresh faces to the modelling industry, including Cora Deitz, Joy Corrigan, Juliana Herz, Muriel Villera, Rachel Villori, Valentina Ferrer, and many others, who are now big stars.

Her mission 

"Our mission is to position LILIANA MONTOYA Swim as a Latin based cosmopolitan brand with tropical roots and diversity of patterns, themes, colors and high-quality; and as a communicative identity between clients and products influenced by Latin culture, optimistic of life, equilibrium adding diversity and handmade embroidery to maintain full satisfaction, with the creation and reinterpretation of products for the new necessities and wishes, of the multifaceted women who typically go unnoticed."

In 2005, she was awarded designer of the year by the University of Medellin as the best swim designer for her collection.

In 2006, she had realized her creative vision and she begins operations under her own name, with a limited quantity, feminine brand that offers creative, high-quality items with handcrafted embellishment.

In 2012 , she decide to take the horns of her company and purchase her own sewing machine, converting her mothers apartment into a factory. She had recruited the individuals to assist her. They utilized her method and replicated her ideas. They established their own company. According to Ms. Liliana Montoya, it was the best lesson for her since she learned to be more cautious with her work.

In 2017, she got the best opportunity of her life. It was a dream come true for her when she was chosen to collaborate with one of the world's most prestigious companies. and this collaboration was called off when she gave birth to a baby.
