Satish Kaushik passes away: Late actor's last film was Kangana Ranaut's Emergency

The Indian film industry and fans woke up to the tragic news of actor-director Satish Kaushik's sudden demise on March 9. The 66-year-old actor suffered a heart attack while traveling in a car in Delhi. Kaushik's death has left a deep void in the hearts of his fans and co-workers who will always cherish his legacy.

Kaushik's last film appearance will be in Kangana Ranaut's directorial venture, Emergency, in which he played the role of late Defence Minister Jagjivan Ram. The historical movie revolves around the troubled period of India's Emergency in 1975-76 during Indira Gandhi's tenure as Prime Minister. Kaushik's role as Jagjivan Ram, a freedom fighter and the epitome of justice, is a testament to his versatile acting skills.

Apart from Emergency, Kaushik was also set to appear in Raj & DK's upcoming series Guns & Gulaabs, starring Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salman, Gulshan Devaiah, and Adarsh Gourav. The series brings back the retro aesthetic of 90's movies.

Kaushik started his career in theaters before finding his break in Bollywood. He was known for his iconic comic roles in films like Mr. India, Deewana Mastana, and Saajan Chale Sasural, for which he won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award twice. With his passing, Kaushik leaves behind an unmatchable legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
