Heidi Klum is a German and American model, television host, producer, and businesswoman who was born on June 1, 1973. Klum grew up in Bergisch Gladbach, a city near Cologne in West Germany. Erna Klum and Günther Klum are the parents of her. She was the first German model to become a Victoria's Secret Angel and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1998.
She participates and wins a national modeling competition called "Model 92" after being convinced by a friend. This tournament drew around 25000 competitors. Following her victory, Thomas Zeumer, CEO of Metropolitan Models New York, offered her a modeling contract worth US$300,000. She made an appearance on the German television show Gottschalk Late Night Show, hosted by Thomas Gottschalk.
